I don't know about you but at gift giving time, in the strain to give something meaningful and that will be enjoyed, appreciated and used, I tend to overthink things and often end up doing one of three things:
1. See something great but a bit over budget. Instead buy a bit of this and a bit of that, stress because it's not quite enough and go out at the last minute amongst the traffic to get that last thing. End up spending more than the first thing I saw that the person would have loved.
2. Buy something that I want myself. Then decide it's not right, keep it and rush to find another gift.
3. Overthink it. Want to get something reeeally special. What would really rock that person's boat? Stress over it and buy something that does not light their face up.
In the interests of the true meaning of gift giving, I suggest that sometimes the simplest options are the ones that will bring the biggest smile.
Here are some suggestions for those basics that might get overlooked in the search but actually would be very well received.
