This original screenprint brings together two important motifs in a clever example of contemporary New Zealand pop art printmaking. The comic book character The Phantom has been explored in paintings and prints by both Paul Hartigan and Dick Frizzell and the hei-tiki is regularly appropriated/referenced in New Zealand fine art. In this 2010 edition Greg Straight brings together these two strands of pop in a work that is pays homage while being refreshingly original at the same time.
